The sound of its engine, the powerful front end with extra air intakes at the front and twin exhaust pipes mounted at the far right and far left will set your pulse racing even before you get going. Automatic Stability Control + Traction (ASC+T), prevent the front wheels from spinning, guaranteeing ideal starting conditions and plenty of traction.
The MINI Cooper Countryman makes sure you'll feel as safe as home − anywhere, anytime. Optimum braking behaviour in any situation is ensured by four disc brakes, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) as standard and Cornering Brake Control (CBC). Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) manages the balance of the braking force between front and rear axle. Brake Assist speeds up the process, enabling maximum braking pressure and thus minimizing the braking distance. Standard-feature Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) prevents unstable driving situations by intervening in the engine management and, if necessary, by applying braking force to individual wheels at the front or rear. DSC also includes Hill Assist. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) lets the driver actively make use of the self-steering properties of the MINI. Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC) recognizes when the wheel slip is too high on the inside wheel during cornering and applies braking force for optimum handling on bends and different road surfaces. During normal braking, the brake lights light up across their entire surface – during emergency braking, they start to flash. This allows vehicles behind to distinguish between gentle and full-on braking. The automatically activated hazard warning lights then help to defuse the critical situation.
High-quality safety equipment equips the MINI Countryman to combat the dangers of the road. Optimum light on straights and bends alike − thanks to the optional bi-xenon headlights which adapt to the direction of the road. A MINI Countryman never has that deflated feeling – thanks to Runflat Tires with emergency running properties. The reinforced side walls allow you to drive up to 150 km at maximum of 80 km/h, even with complete tire pressure loss. Driver and passenger airbags protect the head and upper body during a head-on collision. Side and head airbags reduce the risk of injuries to the head, chest and pelvic regions during side-on impact. "Complete all-around protection" is the guiding principle for the MINI Countryman chassis construction. The rigid collapsible steering column acts as a protective shield, providing optimum protection in the case of impact from the front, rear and side or when the car rolls over.
