Your MINI, your bodyguard: various sensors recognize dangers before they actually arise, allowing you to react in good time. In tricky situations, you are supported by the intelligent suspension and braking systems. Maximum security on four wheels: in the event of a crash, a wealth of safety equipment provides you with optimum, all-around protection.
The MINI Cooper S makes sure you'll feel as safe as home − anywhere, anytime. Automatic Stability Control + Traction (ASC+T), prevent the front wheels from spinning, guaranteeing ideal starting conditions and plenty of traction. Optimum braking behaviour in any situation is ensured by four disc brakes, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) as standard and Cornering Brake Control (CBC). Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) manages the balance of the braking force between front and rear axle. Brake Assist speeds up the process, enabling maximum braking pressure and thus minimizing the braking distance. Standard-feature Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) prevents unstable driving situations by intervening in the engine management and, if necessary, by applying braking force to individual wheels at the front or rear. DSC also includes Hill Assist.
High-quality safety equipment equips the MINI to combat the dangers of the road. Optimum light on straights and bends alike − thanks to the optional bi-xenon headlights which adapt to the direction of the road. A MINI never has that deflated feeling – thanks to Runflat Tires with emergency running properties. The reinforced side walls allow you to drive up to 150 km at maximum of 80 km/h, even with complete tire pressure loss. The MINI has six airbags as standard: driver and passenger airbags protect the head and upper body during a head-on collision. Side and head airbags reduce the risk of injuries to the head, chest and pelvic regions during side-on impact. "Complete all-around protection" is the guiding principle for the MINI chassis construction. The rigid collapsible steering column acts as a protective shield, providing optimum protection in the case of impact from the front, rear and side or when the car rolls over.
Not only does the MINI continue to turn heads on the street - it also ensures the original "compact on the outside, roomy on the inside" concept of the MINI lives on.
